MEETING MINUTES

Please note due to Hurricane the meeting & attendance was limited.

 

I.                    Call to Order- 7AM by President Marc Treziak, D.O.

a.       AOAO Members Present:  Drs.  Bamberger, Paksima, Treziak, Thiel, Holen, Dalsimer, Cameron, Halter, Heithoff, Hill, Kelly, Moretta.

II.                 Approval of Minutes: 10/3/04, San Diego:  Approved

III.               Secretary/Treasurer Report

a.       Balance 11/1/05:  $9107.89

b.      Membership Status

1.      Active Members: 60

2.      Candidate Members:  34

c.       Resident Paper Awards:  Synthes, Inc

-First Place Winner:  David C. Harkins, D.O. (completed residency)

            “Technique of Internal Fixation of Capitellum Fractures.”

-Second Place Winner:  William Robert Campbell, D.O. (completed residency

“Basil Thumb Joint Arthroplasty with Tendon Interposition: A Technique Modification.”

*Please note-Due to hurricane neither physician was in attendance to receive their award. Awards were sent after conference.

V.                 American Society for Surgery of the Hand-No Report

VI.              Old Business

a.       2004 , Due to limited lectures being turned into Dr. Cameron for 2004 meeting he was unable to make a CD for all academy members. 

b.      2005-AOAO has discussed making CD for all academy sections

 

VII.            New Business

a.       Program Chairmen are reminded to keep a slot for the resident Paper winner.

b.      Discussion concerning 2006 Spring Meeting

1.      Half of the meeting will be run by Hand Section.

2.      Moderator:  Doug Bobb, D.O.

3.      Presenters:  Roger Cameron, D.O. and Mark Trzeciak, D.O.

c.       Officer Election:  Nominations for 3rd Vice President
