I. Call to
Order, 7:00am by President Dr. James Kelly
Present: Members: Ames, Bamberger, Barbosa, Bobb,
Borman, Burke, Cameron, Fried, Fritz, Grady, Halter, Heithoff, Hill, Holen,
Howard, Kelly, Martin, Moretta, Smith, Vela.
Dr.
Mortin Morris, Executive Director of the AOAO, spoke on several topics, including;
1. Next year’s Hand Surgery Section will be
moved to Sunday at Section’s request to avoid conflict with ASSH meeting.
2. AOAO is at the service of the Hand Surgery
Section.
3. Along those lines, the Section requested
assistance in collecting annual dues by adding a checkbox to the main statement
from the AOAO, and then forwarding that money to the section.

Business
A. Guest Speaker Honorarium
1. The Section
voted to give Dr. Peter Amadio an additional $500.00 honorarium, and to
continue supplementing our guest speakers in a similar fashion.
B. Program Chairmen are reminded to keep a slot for the Resident
Paper Winner.
C. Dr. Roger Cameron, speaking from an AOAO Board of Directors
viewpoint, reminded the section to make sure those who are elected as Vice
Presidents have the interest and motivation to put together a quality program
D. As a service to our Program Chairmen, guidelines for putting
together a successful program will be written up by Drs. Bamberger &
Heithoff.
E. Discussion was undertaken regarding the advantage of having all
speakers load talks on a single laptop at the breakfast meeting to be used in
morning program.
F. Officer Election. Dr.
Nadir Paksima was elected as third Vice President (pending his acceptance and
commitment). He will be in charge of
the 2005 meeting. Therefore, the
current officers are:
